Post Interski Congress 2023 - Advanced Camp

A unique opportunity!

Every four years the world of snowsport instruction comes together for the World Interski Congress. Often dubbed the ‘Ski Instructors Olympics’ this event is a gathering of professionals who are involved in delivering great guest experiences in the countries and mountains where they work. It is a sharing and exchange of the latest ideas in snowsports including the latest techniques and teaching methodologies. The 2023 congress takes place in Levi, Finland.

This 2-day post congress camp is your opportunity to experience the learnings from Levi and incorporate them into your skiing performance and teaching. You will get to appreciate what takes place at these events and understand their importance to the industry as a whole. Not surprisingly given that the congress only takes place every four years this is a one off not to be missed course! ​

What you will learn

This course will focus on sharing the knowledge gained from the Interski Congress and helping you to integrate this into your performance. The focus will be split between technical and teaching with one day dedicated to each. This will help to challenge and develop both your personal performance and your teaching practice. 

 

While participants on this course will likely come from a training background with one organisation the beauty of this course is that it will give you a wider perspective of our industry allowing you to be a more versatile performer and adaptable teacher. This will undoubtedly enhance your work as a ski instructor. It will also serve as excellent continued professional development. ​

Mornings 9am – 12noon 

  • morning 1: sharing technical insights from Levi 2023

  • morning 2: sharing teaching & guest experience insights from Levi 2023

Afternoons 1pm – 4pm 

  • afternoon 1: integrating top technical takeaways into your performance

  • afternoon 2: exploring how to develop your teaching practice using this new information

Your Coach

Derek has attended four World Interski Congresses with Level 2023 making in five! For three of those congresses, St. Anton 2011, Ushuaia 2015, and Pamporovo 2019 Derek was head of delegation for team Ireland and involved with delivering on-snow workshops, off snow lectures, and attending team leader meetings. The difference with Levi is that Derek will be a ‘delegate’ with no responsibilities for ‘delivering’ hence he will be able to fully absorb and gather information and then share it with you on this 2-day post congress camp.  

 

Derek also created and runs the Facebook group Interski 2023 and put together a technical comparison video following the congress in Ushuaia 2015 which has been watched over 71,000 times! He is super excited about sharing the insights of Levi 2023 with YOU.
